Identifying High-Potential Graduates for BAE Systems

CLIENT

BAE Systems

The Challenge

One of the primary aims of the project was to increase the diversity of graduates, particularly women and engineers, getting onto the high-potential graduate leadership programme.

The Solution:

We conducted a statistical evaluation of the current process from application stage through to assessment centre, based on data collected over a number of years.

Our focus was to identify differences in success rate between demographic groups at each stage of the process. Using this information, we implemented a number of changes and adjustments to the criteria, application form, sift process and assessment centre.

Outcome

The organisation reported a significant increase in the number of candidates from the targeted underrepresented groups applying for the programme and being selected onto it. This included female engineers, a particular group the organisation had been struggling to attract and recruit onto the programme.
